in 2003 CreateAThon with local agency

CDS CREATIVE Donates More Than $33,500 Worth of Marketing and Advertising Services to Area Non-Profits During its Second Annual CreateAThon.

CDS Creative, seven-person Advertising, Marketing & Public Relations plus two freelance artist completed its 24-hour work-around-the-clock effort, providing free creative and marketing services to six selected non-profits. The agency donated 23 projects with a commercial value of approximately $26,000. This was augmented by more than $7,500 worth of printing and Internet donations.

The list of CreateAThon work completed is extensive and includes the following 23 projects:

Girl Scouts of Penn's Northeast - Brochure(s)

Hazleton Senior Citizen'ss Center - Brochure, FAQ Sheet and Display Board

S.A.F.E. - Website, Letterhead, Newsletter Design, Brochure and PSA's

Lupus Foundation Pocono/NE - Promotional Material for Annual Lupus Loop and Media Kit

Wyoming Valley AIDS Council - Promotional Material, Brochure and Ad Campaign

Susquehanna Warrior Trail Council - Website and Brochure

"This was our second CreateAThon," explained Catherine D. Shafer, president CDS Creative "and it never ceases to amaze me what a tremendous amount of talent comes from such a small group of people, in such a short period of time. I'm so proud of this team and the work we produced."

The giving did not end with the 24-hour creative blitz. By expanding CreateAThon and partnering with Independent Graphics Inc., Epix Internet Services and Jack Flash, the agency ensured that the collateral projects developed were printed and websites were hosted. Projects were presented to the six organizations on Friday, September 12 at 9:00 a.m.

CreateAThon is the brainchild of Rigg's, Inc., an advertising, marketing and communications firm in Columbia, South Carolina. In an effort to give non-profit organizations the professional, creative marketing materials that would otherwise be financially unfeasible, Rigg's formed the first CreateAThon in 1998.

CDS Creative selected the six non-profits for CreateAThon 2003 from 23 applications it received from non-profit agencies in Luzerne and Lackawanna County.
